One Canada Square, London

One Canada Square is een wolkenkrabber in Canary Wharf, Londen. Het is het op twee na hoogste gebouw in het Verenigd Koninkrijk op 235 meter boven de grond, en heeft 50 verdiepingen.

Dit project is ontworpen door César Pelli met Adamson Associates en Frederick Gibberd Coombes. Het gebouw is bekleed met roestvrij staal. Een van de belangrijkste kenmerken van het gebouw is het piramidedak, dat een knipperend waarschuwingslicht voor vliegtuigen bevat, een zeldzaam kenmerk voor gebouwen in het Verenigd Koninkrijk. De kenmerkende piramidetoren bevindt zich 240 meter boven de zeespiegel.

One Canada Square wordt voornamelijk gebruikt voor kantoren, hoewel er op de benedenverdieping enkele winkels zijn. Er is geen observatieverdieping. Het gebouw wordt erkend als een Londens oriëntatiepunt en heeft veel aandacht gekregen via film, televisie en andere media als een van de hoogste gebouwen in het Verenigd Koninkrijk.

One Canada Square is a skyscraper in Canary Wharf, London. It is the third tallest building in the United Kingdom at 235 meters above the ground, and has 50 floors.

This project was designed by César Pelli with Adamson Associates and Frederick Gibberd Coombes. The building is clad in stainless steel. One of the main features of the building is the pyramid roof, which contains a flashing warning light for aircraft, a rare feature for buildings in the United Kingdom. The distinctive pyramid tower is located 240 meters above sea level.

One Canada Square is mainly used for offices, although there are some shops on the ground floor. There is no observation floor. The building is recognised as a London landmark and has received a lot of attention through film, television and other media as one of the tallest buildings in the UK.
